Mensa listed the ten smartest shows in television history. Complete bull hockey. Any list of the smartest shows on television that does not include “The Simpsons” must be compiled by a Neanderthal. I’m serious. Hell, any list that has anything other than
1) “The Simpsons”
2) “The Simpsons”
3) “The Simpsons”
4) “The Simpsons”
5) “The Simpsons”
6) “The Simpsons”
7) “The Simpsons”
8) “The Simpsons”
9) “The Simpsons”
10) “The Simpsons”
is complete crap. I don’t believe that whoever made this list have ever seen any other shows. In fact, I hereby charge that the group or board or person who made this list has never seen anything on television before.
I’m very glad I stopped paying my Mensa dues. Really, I did. It was expensive. What? Oh, yeah, I got into Mensa. I’m not stupid or anything you know. Geez. Dang. Come to think of it, maybe that would be good on a resume’. Maybe I should pay my dues. Make up for the whole spent-my-adult-life-in-school thing.

I agree with your 1-10 choices. However, I might add “Family Guy” somewhere in there. It’s amazing that after, what, 18 years or something, that The Simpsons’ writing is still so sharp. Oh yeah.

don’t give ‘em any more of yer money. those Mensanites are nothing but trouble.
I agree, the Simpsons should be on that there derned list. And what about the X Files?
Don’t get me started about the absence of Buffy. “The Hellmouth”? That was truly “deep” and quietly subversive.

I promised this week to never ever ever ever watch television again when “The Simpsons” is off forever. I doubt I’ll live to see that day, however. It will probably be made for 30 years and syndicated for another 300. I mean, as long as, you know, there are intelligent people around…
Oh shit:)

The list is ACCURATE. Come on, The Simpsons are even shown in more than 10 countries. Specific numbers I’m not so sure of. I do have to admit that they’ve changed since the beginning. But they’re still the greatest cartoon ever made. They’re even nominated in two categories over at Nick’s Kids’ Choice Awards - Airing on MARCH 29 @ 8PM. They’re nominated for FAVORITE CARTOON and FAVORITE ANIMATED MOVIE. They’ll be up against Avatar, Ed Edd and Eddy, Spongebob, Avatar, Shrek, Bee movie, and Ratatouille . They’ll win in my opinion. If they don’t, I don’t know where kids’ are going these days.
Plus, Jack Black is going to host the event so you know it will become an all out fun awards show. Just like the last time he hosted the Kids’ Choice Awards. It got pretty crazy, especially for a kids award show. It’s just funny to look at all of the celebrities’ faces when he hosts. Hahaha. I’m working with Nick to get the word out. So make sure you come on by to http://www.nick.com/kca for more details. You can even get FREE downloads, and you can check out the other categories and their nominees.
Are you going to watch?
Who do you want to see get slimed?
(Note: I personally would like to see Miley Cyrus get slimed).

I agree with you that “The Simpsons” was shortchanged. I can get behind some of the choices on the list, but “Boston Legal”? “House”? Really?
And “Cosmos” was a miniseries. How does that count?

Claude, BOSTON LEGAL???? Are you sure? Man, I just never understood that show. Hmmmm. The only show I ever liked that had the word Boston in it was Boston Public.

I think Claude was saying that he can’t get behind Boston Legal, Davey, so you two are agreeing. I’ve never seen it, but I’ll agree too for congeniality’s sake.
But House? House is goddamn brilliant. Part of it is the script, certainly. A large part of it is simply that Hugh Laurie is a genius, and he rocks that role.

Oh yeah, and the Simpsons are good too.
Maybe not good to the 10th power. But good. Give em five slots.

Only five? Thou speakest blasphemy!
(I kid, I kid.)
I’ve only seen “Boston Legal” once by accident and “House” never. But “CSI” instead of “Law and Order”?
Mensa: For shame!

So, ahniwa, who would YOU like to see getting slimed at the awards show?

Twins should always be taken down, Tyra Banks because that could be hot, Jamie Lynn Spears for her bad genes, and then everyone else, because who cares.
But I have a feeling you were really just making fun of me for liking Sesame Street. To which I reply, “You sir, declare your own vulgarity!”
