I’m not certain how useful/effective my chain cleaner was for chain cleaning because, frankly, I waited too long to clean our chains and over-did the lube last time i put it on — and used too-sticky lube. The jury’s out, though it is fun to use. But this cog brush worked great for getting the crud out of our cassettes, chainrings and pullies. It looked like it got run over by a greasy truck when I was finished, but, hey. It took one for the team. It cleaned up pretty well, too.

I got my cog cleaning brush from the feed & tack store for a buck and half, and it looks almost the same as Park Tool’s brush. I think it’s used to clean horse hooves or something.

ha! I just bought one of those a couple months back. I also find the Simple Green bike cleaner to be really effective.

Simple Green kicks ass. I use it to degrease just about everything on my bike.

oh, by the way, I got my PB shipment Saturday. Replaced the cassette (which was shockingly easy to do) and the whole chain skipping problem is gone, gone, gone. So, if you need a chain whip and a locknut tool anytime, just let me know…. I won’t be using those everyday…
