Friday, I had the good fortune to see a gent that I don’t know very well but like a great deal. We only got to chat for a minute. I hadn’t seen him in a few months, but his reaction to the medical doo-hickies on my arms…won, in a sea of jerks:
“What’s wrong with your hands, man?”
“This is sprained; this wrist is broken.”
“Was this from something cycling related?”
“Oh, yes.”
“EXCELLENT!”
I should mention that this gent rides a bike sometimes, and I think he gets it.
Was this gent named Bill? Or, Ted?
Either way, awesome response.
Yeah, I’d say he gets it!
Someone who understands. Though, I am sure that he and we all would have liked things better if you hadnt suffered the injuries you did.
I almost — ALMOST — got the impression that he was a little…jealous?
I’ll ask him:)
Oh man… I wish I had someone react the same way when I had my kinetic sculpture wound in 2008.
Not too many people get kinetic sculpture racing.
