Sounds awesome. Hope you had a great time. I'd love to ride a train sometime. We just don't have many in the Midwest. :( Maybe I can talk the wife into an east coast vacation next year.

Borders is selling a Moleskine knock-off named Picadilly. At prices significantly lower than the original Moleskines. Some people from one of the fountain pen boards seem to like the paper in the Picadilly notebooks better .

Johnny also try out the "Black n Red" notebooks, available at Staples. It is a British company, and a steal at $7.99, very good paper that works well with fountain pen ink and wet writing gel pens and rollerball pens.

I think they were always made there, but they fibbed for a while:) They ARE terrible with very inky pens. I'm hooked on the damned things, though, LOL. Just have to be careful what I use to write in there.

have a great time in DC.
So, you are a Moleskin fan, eh? I would like to use them, but, the new Moleskins ( now made in China), have paper that doesnt work too well with fountain pen ink. I use the old fashioned comp books instead.
