Also, in my aging and eyes getting worse, sometimes I read "besties" as "beAsties," as in, "We just went to the beach with our BEASTIES and got sunburned," and I'm thiking to myself, What kind of fucked up beach lets you bring in BEASTS?!

It's insane how much developing they pack into the time between 1 and 2 years old. Even just 18 mos to 2 years, they make such huge strides in talking and communicating, and letting their little personalities shine through. I think they need to ramp up the cuteness to soften the blow of the time between between 2 years and 3 years, haha! Nothing like budding independence and the inability to control impulses to make things interesting!

After you mail out your fabulous cards, you should post a picture of the cuteness for the rest of us ;)

Awesome! I love the state editions. We took the MA ones to Boston this summer, with excellent results. I feel like stock-piling the MD ones for Charlotte, but I think they've printed more than one run. My MA books were the second printing already. I hope they keep them around. :)

I think it's pretty awesome that you guys came up with the idea independently like that. The blue tint to the paper (instead of WL's grey) is a nice touch, too. It looks great with the glossy white cover. My daughter always grabs my and my wife's FNs, but she seems to really be reaching for this one. (She's got a pack of the J.Crew "summer camp" edition put away for Christmas.)

Whitelines makes some nice stuff. I think they're getting a little more popular in the States these days. They sent us some cool stuff to review at Pencil Revolution last year. I'm using one of the medium books as a journal right now.

Believe it or not, we're in our own little world and we don't really follow trends as closely as many of our awesome fans, ha, so we'd never seen Whitelines before. So it was not a conscious rip-off by any means, it just seemed like an obvious progression to try knocking out the lines or using colored internal paper. I can't imagine anyone coming up with 4 editions a year over the course of a few years wouldn't try that eventually. Whitelines did contact us after the release, and they were friendly about it, and they do have some sort of patent, at least in Europe, so we'll take that into consideration in the future, as we continue to try new things to keep COLORS exciting.

I love Whitelines. I wrote one of their first favorable reviews on Pencil Revolution last year: http://www.pencilrevolution.com/2011/02/review-of-whitelines-perfect-bound-books/

I wouldn't call it a rip-off any more than I'd call FN a rip-off of any other pocket notebook. Good ideas get duplicated. I know Whitelines had a patent; I assume it's run out?

Thought you might like to know that the white lines on gray stationery pattern is blatant rip-off of the Swedish notebook company, White Lines. http://whitelines.se/function/

I would say do the eggs anyway, because cleaning and crushing them is therapeutic and they really do look nice, even sitting on the bottom. In our research, we read they should work with some glycerin mixed with water, but we tried various dilutions and up to 50% glycerin we weren't seeing much difference.
